Men’s tennis team completes comeback in first match of season

On Saturday, Oct. 1 the Wolfpack men’s tennis team rallied back from a 2-1 deficit to win their first match of the season.

Loyola had to work from behind early at Audubon Park as Our Lady of the Lake took a commanding 2-0 lead in doubles, but a default victory helped the Wolfpack cut the lead to 2-1 heading into the singles matches later in the day, according to Loyola Athletics.

The Saints then stretched the margin to 4-1 by securing the first two victories of the singles matches.

Down 4-1, the Wolfpack fired back with three wins as sophomore Maxime Rumeau, sophomore Sean Presti and junior Ernesto de Diego all took both of their sets with commanding victories tying the score at 4-4. A default victory in the sixth singles match secured the win for the Wolf Pack.

The Wolf Pack travel to Pensacola, Florida on Friday, Oct. 14 to participate in the UWF Fall Fling put on by the University of West Florida.
