Big Freedia visited Loyola to speak at the music industry forum on Monday, May 2 at 5 p.m. in Nunemaker Hall.

She opened the forum by discussing the release of her new book “God Save the Queen Diva.”

In additon, the topics of the interview covered her rise to fame, how her music transformed her personal life and how her journey has shaped her as a person along the way.

Big Freedia also discussed what her future plans were aside from her music career.

Among those plans is a new restaurant, a bounce themed workout app, and the start of her own bounce festival.

Afterward, students had the opportunity to ask her questions about how she became an international artist, and how she managed to break into the music industry.

The course is actually called Film & Music Industry Forum, as it contains students from both the music industry and film programs within our department.
