When is it offered? Computer-based test offered year-round and on specific dates at some testing locations. Testing appointments are scheduled on a first come, first-served basis. Remember, you can take the test up to FIVE times in a 12-month period.

Where do I take it? Prometric Testing Center, Metairie or University of New Orleans, Milneburg Hall

What does it cover? The GRE measures verbal reasoning, quantitive reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills. These skills should have been developed over a long period of time and are not related to a specific field of study, but are important for all. GRE test question types are meant to reflect the kind of thinking you’ll do in graduate programs.
