Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has checked into rehab, according to the band’s official website. The band cancelled several upcoming promotional appearances but has not cancelled their next full-length performance-headlining the 2012 New Orleans Voodoo Music Experience the last weekend of October. On Sept. 23, Green Day’s website said Armstrong was “seeking treatment for substance abuse.” Keith Spera, Times-Picayune music writer, reported that replacing a Saturday night headliner at this point would be “tricky.”
