Drinking can be expensive, and even more so if you are a college student on a budget. Whether it is to spare your wallet or to step out of your routine and try a new place, happy hours are the perfect opportunity. Here are some of our favorites. 

Theo’s Pizza Uptown: 4218 Magazine St.

  • Tuesday: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • $1 draft beers

Bruno’s: 7538 Maple St.

  • Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
  • $2 wells, calls, wine, most shots, Crown Royal, domestic beers, Abita Amber, Abita Purple Haze and LA 31. From 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. appetizers are half-off.

The Boot: 1039 Broadway St.

  • Tuesday: 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • $.50 well drinks and shots; $1 domestic beers

Cure Uptown: 4905 Freret St.

  • Every day from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • $5 classic cocktails

Phillips: 733 Cherokee St.

  • Friday: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. to closing
  • $4 martinis

The Palms: 7130 Freret St.

  • Friday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • “Flip for it” – call the coin and your drink is on the house.

The Bulldog: 3236 Magazine St.; 5135 Canal Blvd.

  •  All day Wednesdays
  • With each draft beer you buy, you can keep the pint glass. If you bring back 10 glasses (The Bulldog takes glasses back every day except Wednesdays), they’ll give you a free T-shirt and donate 10 cents for each glass to their animal shelter of the month.

Columns Hotel
: 3811 Saint Charles Ave.

  • Monday to Friday: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Half-off domestic beers, house wines and well drinks

Superior Grill: 3636 St. Charles Ave.

  • Everyday from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 2-for-1 or large for the price of small margaritas and mixed drinks
