Prytania Theatre presents tribute to Gene Wilder

Uptown’s Prytania Theatre will be showing Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) from Sept. 2-Sept. 5 as a tribute to the late Gene Wilder, who played the role of Willy Wonka. Wilder died at the age of 83 Monday, Aug. 29.

Wilder was an acclaimed actor and screenwriter, was well known for his other starring roles in “Blazing Saddles” and “Young Frankenstein” His nephew announced the cause of his death was complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
