Graduate receives prestigious award

Loyola alum Catherine Lacey has taken home one of the top honors in literature for rising writers.

Catherine Lacey, A’07 received the Whiting Award during a ceremony on March 23 held at the New York Historical Society. The $50,000 award honors winners for superior early accomplishment and the promise of great work to come.

Lacey’s first novel, Nobody Is Ever Missing, was published in 2014 and received great acclaim. An excerpt of her latest work can be found on TheParisReview.com
