Brief: College of Business gives students entrepreneurial opportunity

The College of Business is giving students the chance to work with the South Coast Angel Fund.

The South Coast Angel Fund was formed to foster entrepreneurial endeavors throughout Louisiana, and the Gulf Coast. Angel funds are made up of investors who provide capital to start business.

Managing director of the South Coast Angel Fund, Clayton White, J.D.’07, initiated the idea that Loyola’s College of Business could help its MBA students apply their classroom knowledge to the real world.

Brett Matherne, College of Business professor, created the MBA Entrepreneurial Consulting course to help achieve this goal.

Graduate students taking this course contribute to the investment process of new businesses and the angel fund provides capital for these new ventures.
