There’s more to me than my TV

    Wheeeee

While driving, I noticed a billboard for Cox Digital Cable. It stated simply, “What does it say about you?” Well, if a majority of my friends are an example of the general public, then your television is probably talking about all of the “adult” programming on. Isn’t that a scary thought? All of the televisions of the world getting together and talking about how often you’ve seen Naughty School Girls in Tapioca followed up by the Animal Planet. You don’t need your television laughing at you.I think it’s sad that your television viewing habits would have to say something about you. The idea that your preference for entertainment somehow dictates who you are just seems like another way to classify you. This type of person watches this. As in, all of the people who watch Jerry Springer are hillbilly white trash. Of course, this is not always true.Still, when you think about it, this whole concept begins to make a little sense. The person who watches monster truck rallies obviously seems to be different from the person who watches CNBC around the clock. This is dangerous thinking, my friends. Thinking along these lines may even lead you to think of yourself in these terms. For example, you may begin to think that you’re definitely a Daily Show kind of guy, but that you’re trapped in this house full of, well, Full Housers. I say this is wrong. People’s viewing preferences don’t necessarily say anything about them – it is why people watch what they watch that is telling. Perhaps you were watching Naughty School Girls in Tapioca because you are an artist and admire the human form. Maybe you were just looking for interesting and compelling positions to place your models in and then looking to juxtapose their beauty with that of the hideous baboon. Then again, maybe you’re just sick.
