Brief: Professor examines justice post-Katrina

Michael Cowan, a professor in the Institute for Ministry, will explore how the New Orleans criminal justice system has improved since Hurricane Katrina through a religious lens. “For the Well-Being of the City: Crime, Justice and the Biblical Vision,” will be a free lecture scheduled for Friday Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. in Miller Hall 114. Cowan is an expert in interfaith and interracial community organizing, as well as the director of Common Good, a network of civil society organizations he founded after Hurricane Katrina that harnesses the power of collective action from the community to rebuild the city.
