Wendell Pierce, award-winning actor and star of HBO’s “Treme,” will address the graduating class of 2011 during the commencement ceremony.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 14 at 9:45 a.m. in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Pierce and several other notables including National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Administrator Jane Lubchenco, music producer Cosimo Matassa and New Orleans businessman and Loyola trustee emeritus John Levert Jr. will receive honorary degrees.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, J.D.’85, H’05, will deliver the address to the College of Law commencement ceremony, which will take place at 5:45 p.m. in the convention center on the same day.
