Genesis Week encourages inspiration and spirituality through music

Genesis Gospel Choir brings music and spirituality to the Loyola community with week of events

Genesis Week is an annual week of events brought to students by the Genesis Gospel Choir. This year’s annaul Genesis Week held by the Genesis Gospel Choir featured opportunities for artsistic expression, physical and spiritual wellness, and giving back to the community.
The “Open Mic Night,” held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, welcomed all types of artists to perform positive and inspirational pieces and is one of two new events added to Genesis week this year. The event was free except for highly encouraged donations of nonperishable food items to go to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
The second additional event of the week was “Total Man Exercise Night” where Brittany Owens discussed spiritual wellness and LaMicha Jackson, international business junior, led physical exercise, the event on Monday, Nov. 18, concluded with nutritious snacks.
Genesis Week came to a wrap this year with the “Seasons Worship Experience”, an interactive performance with the gospel choir in Nunemaker Auditorium on Friday, Nov. 22.
