Brief: Nuns rally against immigration laws

Hundreds of Catholic nuns will gather on campus to rally for comprehensive immigration reform on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. The demonstration aims to show the sisters’ support for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

Nuns representing more than 12 religious communities are expected to join the Loyola rally. Speakers at the rally include Sister Clarita Bourque, Sister Pat Brady, Sister Laura Mercier and criminal justice senior Samuel Rottman. Iggy Immigration Advocacy, a Loyola student organization, is also participating in the rally.

In the event of rain, the New Orleans Nuns Rally for Comprehensive Immigration Reform will be held in Miller Hall.
