Brief: Pack tennis falls in tournament

Four Loyola students were successful at the NAIA tournament on the first day, but were edged on the second day.

Biology junior Meghan De Baroncelli beat two more competitors until falling to Jade Curtis of Auburn University at Montgomery in the women’s singles quarterfinals.

Biology sophomore Wesley Dejoie swept Ashley McLendon of Belhaven in women’s singles but lost to Chanel Cunningham of University at Auburn Montgomery.

International business freshman Alexa Mancuso won her first match against Belhaven University before ultimately losing to Belhaven’s Katie Campbell.

De Baroncelli and chemistry junior Kanda Borgognoni were victorious in their doubles match against Belhaven, but Auburn Montgomery defeated them in the quarterfinals.
