Brief: Treme Center Reopens

After more than a year of renovations, the Treme Center reopened its doors this Wednesday with help from the city of New Orleans and FEMA.

“When construction began on the Treme Center in Jan. ’12, we promised that we would build it back better than before and today we are delivering on that promise,” said New Orleans mayor, Mitch Landrieu. “This building is a symbol of what is possible when we work together to create the city we always dreamed of.”

The $5.6 million in renovations not only updated the center with a new swimming pool and computer lab, but it also helped repair previous storm damage from Hurricane Katrina.
