BRIEF: UPB announces new president

David Garcia, psychology senior, was selected as the University Programming Board president for the 2011-2012 school year.

Garcia has been on the UPB e-staff since his freshman year, and has served as both the UPB vice president of Membership and director of Programming for two years.

Garcia participated in programming activities in high school and wanted to continue his involvement in college as a means of participating in campus life.

His goals for the upcoming year are to better promote co-programming among organizations on campus in order to better cater to student needs and promote smart programming.

He also wants to focus on bringing more lectures and well-known authors to campus. According to Garcia, his primary job is to cater to student needs on campus. Garcia said he is “very dedicated to UPB.”
