‘Pack’s men’s basketball has two big games

The men’s basketball team finished January with two critical conference wins as it continues to battle for a spot in the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Wolfpack dominated William Carey University on Jan. 26 in a 72-60 victory, then beat Auburn University Montgomery two days later in a blow out victory with a final score of 81-55.

The team went 5-3 during January, improving its conference record to 5-6, and ended the month with an overall record of 13-7. Starting forward and general studies sophomore Robert Lovaglio returned to the lineup for the Jan. 28 game against Auburn University Montgomery after being out with an injury for three weeks.

With six conference games left in the season, Loyola is one of several teams in position to overcome division leader Belhaven University and win the western division.
