BRIEF: Arne Duncan, Chris Paul come to Loyola

Join Loyola’s Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education and the U.S. Department of Education for the “TEACH Town Hall lecture with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan” and Hornet’s pointguard Chris Paul from 2:15 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, April 8 in Roussel Performance Hall.

The event is meant to honor and highlight teachers from the New Orleans area and to help recruit future teachers.

The event is held at colleges and high school across the nation as a part of a series for the U.S. Department of Education’s national TEACH Campaign.

The campaign aims to help increase the number of candidates and the quality of teaching nationwide.

The panel will discuss why the teachers chose to enter the field of education as well as why its important to recruit qualified candidates.
