The women’s Wolf Pack basketball team began their journey toward their third straight conference title on Thursday against the University of Mobile. The team were also hoping to follow in the footsteps of the men’s team, who gained a victory over the Rams the previous day.

The women’s team started the game slowly, trailing the Rams 23-13 at the end of the first quarter. The women responded with a 10-0 run to take the lead by a point. Both teams would go back and forth heading into halftime, until a jump shot by Kylah Jones gave the Pack a 38-37 lead going into the break.

The Pack trailed the Rams 46-45 until a 8-0 run gave the team a 53-46 lead at the two minute mark of the third quarter. The Pack led 61-51 going into the final period.

The team never relinquished the lead, as they cruised to a 75-62 victory over the Rams. The Pack was led by Zoie Miller, who tallied a career high 23 points to go along with four assist. Caroline Gonzalez added 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field. Meghan Temple chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds in the win.

The Pack will take on the winner of Faulkner University and Auburn Montgomery.
