Loyola University has confirmed that it will take the responsibility of covering the TOPS deficit this semester.

Rev. Kevin Wildes, S.J.’s decision, which was announced through email on Feb. 15,  follows after the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance stated they would only be able to fund 80 percent of the TOPS scholarships.

While a special legislative session started on Feb 14. to discuss the remaining 20 percent of the scholarship that needs to be funded, the session is not expected to end until March 9.

Further announcements will be released after the session has ended.
