President Obama discusses prison reform

According to the White House, more than 2 million people are incarcerated in the U.S, and each year, 600,000 are placed back into society. This lead to President Barack Obama calling the it the “cycle of incarceration”.

Congress is discussing legislation for making sentences lighter on non-violent drug offenders. President Obama met with community leaders in order to discuss how change is necessary in our current society.
