South Carolina flood leaves state in ruin

A flood took the lives of nine people and is still an ongoing issue for residents of South Carolina.

550 roads and highways are completely shut down in South Carolina after over 20 inches of rain fell over the weekend of Oct. 2-4. Officials described the rain as a one in 1,000 chance of this weather happening.

The streets in South Carolina are completely flooded over and an emergency evacuation has been tasked to the citizens south of the Overcreek Dam.

The state is not forecasted to receive any additional rainfall in the coming days, which will allow for residents to rebuild and return to normalcy.
