Kentucky clerk denies marriage license

Rowan County, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis refused to issue any marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Sept. 1.

Davis decided to go against the U.S. Supreme Court’s legalization of gay marriage, saying that it goes against her views as an Apostolic Christian.

April Miller and Karen Roberts have been trying to receive a marriage license from the state ever since U.S. District Judge David Burning ordered Davis to issue the licenses. However, Davis refused to comply and the couple has been going back-and-forth with no success.

“All the excitement built up, then there was this crash of disappointment and anger,” Miller said. “I felt really marginalized, dehumanized, ostracized. I just emotionally crashed.”

I see the GOP clown car made it to the KY freak show today. Davis had 4 options, but she chose to go to jail for contempt. Do your job, assign staff members to do your job, resign, or go to jail. She was exactly where she belongs and I imagine she’ll be back in jail soon.
