The Loyola cross country team debuted Saturday, Sept. 13 at the 36th Annual Azalea City Classic hosted by the University of South Alabama after their first two meets were canceled due to Hurricane Gustav.
In an effort to be more involved with the school, Crescent City Radio announced they will begin to broadcast Loyola sporting events. John Crutti, faculty adviser to Crescent City Radio and coordinator of technology for the College of Music and Fine Arts, said, "We decided that we wanted to showcase more local Loyola content and broaden our dedication to Loyola and try to cover more of the events on campus.
It was three months before the martial arts bout of his life that finance junior Carlos Vera's father left his family. Garkeiva Council Joins Loyola Women's Basketball Team Loyola women's basketball coach, Kellie Kennedy, announced sociology freshman Garkeiva Council has joined the 'Pack this season. At 5 feet 6 inches tall, Council will step into the line-up as a guard. Council graduated from Alief Hastings High School in Houston, where she lettered in basketball and volleyball.

Professors at Loyola get special attention from the credit crisis
The faculty senate approved the Student Government Association's smoking policy, after Robert Gerlich, S.J. voted in favor, breaking the tie.
"I am absentee voting," graphic design sophomore Audrey Schreck said.
