New York. Boston. Chicago. (They go so far as to turn their river green.) These are the big guns of the St. Patrick's Day parade. But, to be frank, what do those guys know about parades? After all, we have that little thing called Mardi Gras. And for those hankering for just one more day to drink at any hour without it being inappropriate, look no further than St.
You know the rules: wear green, drink Guinness, poke your friends with shillelaghs, and all that malarkey. Be prepared to catch vegetables. Read: carrots, cabbages, potatoes. These essential elements of an Irish stew will fly over or at your head, so look out.
The newly reorganized College of Music and Fine Arts is ready for its coming out. The college is holding the first ever Music and Fine Arts Festival on Friday, March 28. Event coordinator Ashley Shabankareh said she's excited about the new festival. Shabankareh, music education and music industries studies junior, said the festival is a collage of the college's offerings and a culmination of the year's work.
Loyola's campus gained some aesthetic appeal when a steel structure intruded on the lawn of the academic quad Wednesday morning. Local artist David Borgerding donated his latest sculpture, "Tapatawpa," now installed between Bobet and Marquette Halls. "This piece is abstract," Borgerding said.
Although aid has been pouring into the city for the past two and a half years, no volunteer group, legislation or monetary donation has supported the city and its resilient people better than 92.3 FM, known better to those who run wild and look pretty as the DIVA.

The faculty senate approved the Student Government Association's smoking policy, after Robert Gerlich, S.J. voted in favor, breaking the tie.
"I am absentee voting," graphic design sophomore Audrey Schreck said.

This is fine and good, as Loyola will see better results: a cleaner campus and a higher skilled work force.
