Loyola revealed the Kell Munoz Master Plan on Jan. 24 without offering definite cost estimates or a timeline for its completion. While the plan may seem spectacular to outsiders, the revamping of the Loyola campus is not as new as it may appear. Loyola's history shows a constant change of scenery, dating back from its beginning in 1911.
Life at Loyola is hard as a student. You're trying to figure out your place in the world: your future, your finances and your direction. All of these things can make you feel a little rundown and sometimes you just want to vent. But beware of venting to the wrong people.
There are not many bad things you can say about Loyola. Granted, I have only been here for one semester, but from what I have seen, this school does all it can to keep its students happy and entertained. Loyola has bands that come and play in the Peace Quad during the day so students can relax in between classes and just listen to music.
It doesn't take a scientific study to conclude that a vast majority of Loyola students, myself included, are celebrating the Mardi Gras season. My hypothesis, however, is that a vast minority of students are preparing to observe Lent. The idea of Mardi Gras without Lent seems a little counterintuitive.

Fall fashion may be hitting the runways of New York, but political buttons, t-shirts and bumper stickers seem to be the fashion-forward trend dominating the Loyola "runway."
You see that title under my name? That's unadulterated theft. It comes from my brother Jimmy Bower. He's a high-school dropout, has tattoos from head to toe and Willie Nelson's taste in hair and drugs. And he's from the West Bank. He sounds just terrible, doesn't he? But since his Wikipedia page says he's the "Godfather of Southern Metal," I guess someone digs his style.
