We would like to take a moment to commemorate the ninth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 4 hurricane. Hurricane Katrina left a vast amount of damage and destruction to our city, and we continue to see efforts to rebuild it today.

Though we rejoice to acknowledge that New Orleans and its people have come a long way since, it is still important that we remember all those who lost their lives in the hurricane and its aftermath.
