Two vacant Student Government Association positions were filled at the Feb. 5 meeting. Congress appointed Rebekah Rhiner, music business junior, as an SGA music representative. Rhiner ran unopposed for her seat. Nathan Gaudet, political science and history junior, was appointed as an Arts and Sciences representative. Congress amended the Election Code at the meeting. The most noticeable change for students is that there no longer will be multiple polling booths for elections. The one booth will be in front of the Danna Center open from 10 a.m.to 7 p.m. on election dates. Also, SGA will allow candidates to spend an additional $100 for campaign purposes in the event of a runoff. Another upcoming event is Homecoming Week, planned for Feb. 18 through Feb. 21. Each student may nominate for homecoming court one man and one woman from any grade level today at the SGA booth in the Danna Center, across from the convenience store. According to Mary Grace Stewart, SGA Arts and Sciences president and political science and sociology sophomore, SGA has scheduled various events throughout Homecoming Week. In other news, organizational budget money was allocated Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The decisions have been posted and tabled for one week upon final review by SGA members. The resolution will come before Congress at the next meeting on Feb. 14.
