The other afternoon I approached the men’s single occupancy bathroom located at the front of Monroe library. The door was locked, so without thinking twice, I tried the adjacent single bathroom whose door’s sign read “Women”. Undeterred by the female illustration, I used the vacant bathroom.

Throughout my time here at Loyola, I have been fortunate enough to have a variety of different experiences, but one of the best opportunities I have received is the chance to work with the Student Government Association.
I showed up to the required meeting for all SGA candidates knowing absolutely nothing. I got an election packet, listened to campaign rules and took it all back to my dorm room. I filled out my forms, and after checking off my intent to run for President, I looked for the SGA constitution to find out what I’d actually be doing as president.
My administration will focus on truly recognizing the concerns and wishes of the student body first and foremost and acting on those concerns with speed and efficiency.
Since my first semester at Loyola University, I have played an active role in Student Government Association by serving as a senator my freshman year and as the College of Music and Fine Arts president this year. In both of these capacities, I have worked to resolve issues regarding the need for more practice rooms, organizational funding and course evaluations.
