Voodoo headliner heads to rehab

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has checked into rehab, according to the band’s official website. The band cancelled several upcoming promotional appearances but has not cancelled their next full-length performance—headlining the 2012 New Orleans Voodoo Music Experience the last weekend of October. On Sept. 23, Green Day’s website said Armstrong was “seeking treatment for substance abuse.” Keith Spera, Times-Picayune music writer, reported that replacing a Saturday night headliner at this point would be “tricky.”
