Brief: Sexual assault reported by student

A Loyola student reported that she was the victim of a sexual assault on Jan. 15 at 11:52 a.m., according to university police.

The reported incident occurred in her residence in Biever Hall at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 15. Captain of special services and parking Roger Pinac of university police said in an email that the alleged perpetrator is a Loyola student and is an acquaintance of the victim. The email also stated that the alleged perpetrator was with the victim earlier in the evening.

The victim received counseling and has refused assistance from the New Orleans Police Department. Police are currently investigating the incident.
