Brief: English professor receives award

Loyola University New Orleans English professor John Biguenet received the prestigious Louisiana Writer Award. The commendation recognizes his contributions to the state through his crafting of novels, short stories, poems and columns. Biguenet will be presented the award at the Louisiana Book Festival on Oct. 27 in Baton Rouge. He will also speak about his career and take part in a book signing at the Barnes & Noble Bookselling and signing tent. Biguenet will also be interviewed on stage at 4 p.m.
