Loyola University New Orleans community memorializes the life and legacy of Father Jerry Fagin, S.J., in the St. Ignatius Chapel on Sept. 26. Fr. Fagin was suffering from aggressive prostate cancer and died at the age of 74. He was a Jesuit for 55 years, a priest for 43 years and a beloved Jesuit community member.

Could you not have shown that fine priest some respect and referred to him as Fr. Fagin and, in the obit, as Gerald rather than Jerry? You might also have written a story about the service rather than printing that canned obit.
