Loyola baseball clinches first ever SSAC Championship spot

The Wolf Pack baseball team is headed to the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship playoffs for the first time in program history.

After splitting a double header with 19th ranked William Carey College on April 29, the Wolf Pack remained a half-game ahead of Blue Mountain College for the last spot in the playoffs.

The Wolf Pack secured the last spot once Blue Mountain College lost to Martin Methodist College 1-8 on April 29.

The Wolf Pack end the regular season with a record of 22-31 and a SSAC record of 7-18.

According to the preseason coaches poll, Loyola was ranked last out of the ten teams in the Southern States Athletic Conference with 24 points out of 100.

The Wolf Pack will play against #1 seed Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama on May 4, at 7 p.m.
