The men’s basketball team hosted the Martin Methodist Redhawks in the Den. The Wolf Pack headed into Thursday night’s matchup riding the momentum of a three-game winning streak, while the Redhawks were looking to make a move in the SSAC standings.

The Pack started the game with early buckets from So. center Robert White and Fr. Tre’Von Jasmine to make the score 6-0 and force an early timeout from Martin Methodist. The Redhawks responded late in the first half with six unanswered points of their own to tie the score at 15 points a piece. The teams would go back and forth until a layup by Martin Methodist’s Oskar Reinfield tied the score at 23-23 going into halftime.

The Pack had a 38-34 advantage after intermission but would go on to string together six straight points to extend the lead to 44-34 halfway through the second half. The Redhawks would cut the lead to seven in the final minutes but the Pack would extend the lead back to double digits to earn the 65-54 victory.

Both Nick Parker and Jonny Griffin Jr. led the team with 19 points a piece, while Tre’Von Jasmine chipped in 13 points. The team shot 49 percent from the field and nailed six three pointers in the game. They improve to 7-7 in SSAC play and 10-12 overall. The Pack host Bethel University in the Senior Day game on Saturday, February 13.
