Loyola theatre set to premiere acclaimed “Street Scence” opera

Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Elmer Rice, Kurt Weil’s “Street Scene will be featured at Loyola’s Roussel Hall on Jan. 20 and Jan. 22.

The backdrop for the performance is 1940’s New York City, complimented with lyrics from noted Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes.  The music has been described as a fusion of traditional European music with American jazz and blues influences.

Tickets will be priced at $15 for students and faculty and $25 for general admission.
